Alanger - Continued
Posted by oz1998 on Tuesday, June 6, 2006 7:34 AM

This is in response to 72Cuda's thread about Alanger, for which some reason the site would not allow me to reply to.

I did the same thing he did. I saw an opportunity during one of thier 40% - 60% off sales to pick up a 1/350 Eastern Express Borodino kit for half price with only $6.00 shipping, plus a free gift ! I paid them via PayPal on 5/8/06 and as of today, 6/6/06 still no kit. I've sent two e-mails and have recieved no response to either one. I've also called the phone numbers on my order confirmation and the website and still no luck. One has been "temporarily disconected" and the other just rings, although someone did answer once and told me "I don't speak English". Well, this isn't a good sign. Angry [:(!]

So, it looks like I'm going to have to do what 72Cuda did. Write to PayPal and get my money back.

Anybody else have this experience ?

Well I'm glad I'm not the only one that's had this problem, and I'm sorry OZ1998 for the problem this distributor has caused you. That's why I'm writing a thread on this forum maybe he's reading this forum and get a clue on how to give good customer service, or at least keep his customer informed on the situation of stock or problems with getting the order out, just tell me if there is a problem that's all.

Even though he's got great prices but how could he keep in business for all those shipping problems

Hi Joe,

Yeah, I've dealt with Max before. We have a "history" as well. Angry [:(!] He usually responds when the second or third email takes on an increasingly terse tone. Sure enough, one month to the day and two emails later he sends me a note saying the Borodino kit will be shipping soon.

I guess better late than never. At this point, I'm just happy it's on it's way. Smile [:)]

Hey guys,

Glad to see this heads-up. Last Nov. 05 I ordered a Konig and five 1/48 Spits using a credit card. The order arrived within a week and in good condition, so I was thinking about grabing a Borodino kit the next time there is a sale. Your current problems have me wondering.

Thanks,

Hi Al,

First of all, welcome to the forum !! Big Smile [:D]

Go ahead and take the chance if you are willing to be dilligent and follow up after awhile goes by and nothing shows up. My experience shows Max usually gets around to your order if you are willing to bug him enough. Especially if you take on a terse but professional tone. Evil [}:)] My experience in the past has been everything from one week to eight weeks so it's up to you. Seems his intentions are basically good, but some orders seem to fall through the cracks. Though a $79 Borodino kit for $37 is kind of hard to pass up, huh ? If you decide to go for it, good luck !
