convert Trump. Hornet to Enterprise
Posted by Anonymous on Thursday, June 15, 2006 10:29 AM

I have frinally hit upon a goal. I am going to model as many of the "enterprises" as possible. Starting off with NCC-1701. I will than get 2 Polar Light 1701 kits so I can do the original and the refit. I am also planning on working backwards. The model/PE/etc for the CVN 65 seem to be taking care of itself. But trying to get a 1/350 CV6 is ...well difficult. The best advice I have seen so far is to convert the Hornet into the enterprise. This brings me to my problem. What will I need to convert? What after market items would assist me on this. I know absolutely nothing about A/C and if you showed be the Hornet and said it was the Enterprise I would agree. But this is not good enough. I want the Enterprise. So come on all, give me the knowledge and options I need to know.

Live long and prosper!!

Nautilus Models makes a resin conversion island that will convert the Trump Hornet into either the Enterprise or the Yorktown

http://nautilusmodels.com/enterprise.htm

Nautilus also offers a laser-engraved wooden deck for the Yorktown/Enterprise.

Ths shape of the Hornet's deck differed from her older sisters.

Then you will want to go with either the Gold Medal Models or White Ensign photoetched set for the details
