Merci beaucoup Michel ! What I understand is that she's somewhat similar to Surcouf's earlier command La Confiance. That will be very very useful. Merci encore une fois Smile [:)]

Hello, Kapudan,

Le Revenant was a trois mats barque (three mast bark, see the drawing)

The hull was copper sheathed,

Armament : 18  or 20 guns (sometimes describes as 14 32-guns and 6 8-guns)

Crew : 192

Figurehead : “un homme écartant son linceul pour sortir du tombeau” ( a man spreading his shroud open to come out the tomb »

Later enlisted in the French Navy as the corvette Iena, captured by the Royal Navy in 1808, captured again by the French Navy in 1810.

Hello,

I'm looking for details of french privateer surcouf's fabled ship "Le Revenant". All I know about her is that she's a three masted ship and carried a frightening figurehead of a wight. Perhaps Michel shall help me about taht subject.
