Keep an eye out for the movie "Here Comes the Navy" (1934), with James Cagney and Pat O'Brien.  Much of it was shot on board the Arizona.  The plot is pretty dumb, but it's a wonderful nostalgia trip - especially when one realizes that the young leading lady is Gloria Stuart, who played the old lady in "Titanic."  It turns up now and then on Turner Classic Movies cable network; I don't know whether it's ever been made available on VHS or DVD.

Just checked the listings at Turner Classic Movies and I see that "Here Comes The Navy" will be shown on July 17 at 2:00PM EDT. HTH

There's a mistake in that listing - unless the NIP has come out with a new, cheaper edition, in which case the price is outrageous.  The listing says there are no line drawings.  The edition I read (which I checked out of the library) contains two or three nice sets of plans by Alan Chesney, representing the ship at various points in her career.  Very useful for model building.

Youth, talent, hard work, and enthusiasm are no match for old age and treachery.

It's a little pricey, but Stillwell's Battleship Arizona: An Illustrated History for Naval Institute Press is excellent, having many photos representing all the refits during her twenty-five year career.
