The Acheron at Galapagos

...okokok, it's not the Acheron. Tongue [:P]

It's the Guayas, the training vessel of the Ecuadorian Navy. But she's lying at Sullivan Bay, Bartolome island in the Galapagos, right where they did the shooting for "Master and Commander".

I was very lucky to see her there during that day, especially the big ensign reminded me of the Acheron. Good feeling. I think this is as close as you can get into the footsteps of Dr. Maturin when visiting the  islands...
Thought you guys might like the shot.

That's right.   Acheron was a full rigged ship.  The vessel shown is a barque.

Interesting!

I'd really like to see more about Guayas!

That's more or less all I know about her (and the other pictures I took basically look the same)... I must have said 'Buenos dias' to the whole crew, though - we going down the hill on a narrow path, and they going up.. Smile [:)]
