Anybody out there knows what the 'castle' (for a better name!) that is normaly found onto the deck of the Roman warships was made off? Was it stone? Or wood? What was its use? What colour should it be?

The Castle was called a "Fort" and it was made of stone. However the frame work was wood and the stone was thin. It served more of a "Oh S**t capt. look what they got, we can't beat them, let's run!

For lack of a better [phrase.
