That has to be one of most mysterious ships of the entire war.  I consider myself something of a WWII buff, and I can't remember seeing a picture of the GZ.  I knew it existed, but I guess I never realized that it was so far into its construction.  

I'd love to see a dio of the completed GZ with battle group, the carrier surrounded by a screen of battleship, cruisers and destroyers and maybe even a type VII sub.

This site has some great photos, both of the wreck and of her building and launching that I haven't seen before.  Her history will always be a great example of what "might have been".  It's almost a little sad to read of her end but if she'd fulfilled her purpose,,,,,well, who knows?  Probably just as well for the Allies.
