Hi ogrejohn, I did the paint scheme with the orange funnels,
although the ship had them painted black during the war. I did not use
the p/e on this kit as it was built about 12 years ago. I also used
normal thread for funnel wire and it looks rather thick and out of
scale. I was a novice at liners when I did it. My first use of p/e on a
ship was on the Tamiya 350th Enterprise. It will take some practice in
how much superglue to use applied with a pin in my case. Unfortunately
I don't have a digital camera yet.
The model came out good however.
Ballard dove on the wreck for his book, which can be bought through Amazon.com.......a used copy pretty cheap.
