He is indeed a master of the craft.  I bet you'd like to see him do a portrait of Yavuz, eh Kapudan?  That would be very nice.

I've admired Freeman's work for many years and am not only amazed at the realistic images he creates, but also the historic accuracy he builds into all his works.  I hope he's making a good living at what he does and stays with it all his days so we get more and more of his amazing works. 

Oh, yes MBT indeed ! I would try to gather those, possibly, hundreds of dollars to buy such a painting of Yavuz accompanied by Midilli in one of their Black Sea forays. Yet the already existing art of mr. Freeman is still enough to stir my heart. Especially those US civil war series. I've also found that a jigsaw puzzle company called FX Schmid made some sets from his battle of mobile bay and destruction of paddle frigate Mississipi paintings. Sadly they are OOP today. Yet I will look for possible reissues.

He has done extensive illustrations for several books, Pearl Harbor in particular, and those would make excellent sources of his works.  I have three Warship Profiles with his work on the cover, including USS Missouri and Texas.

Oh, BTW, Kapudan ... if you haven't already discovered him, you should also look up some of the works by German artist Klaus Bergen.  His work is not so detailed as Freeman, but his style and technique are alive and expressive in ways that pull you into the reality and action of the moment.  He did a lot of WW I subjects and quite a few U-Boat scenes.

quite good as are geoffrey hunt's who did all the covers for the patrick o'brien books. i have 3 of his arizona prints in my study, dec06 off diamond head, dawn of destiny 07dec and the memorial.

there are a number of maritime artists i enjoy.  see if you can find THE TALL SHIPS IN ART which has works by a number of artists.
