Looking for 1/350 scale whaleboats
Posted by rcboater on Tuesday, September 5, 2006 9:43 PM

I'm working on my 1.350 scale USCGC Eagle.-- one of the kit's weak points is the awful 1800s style wooden longboats, where the Eagle has modern USCG 26 foot motor surf boats.

I don't know of any 1/350 scale USCG MSBs, but I figure I can modify USN 26 foot WW2 style motor whale boats -- they'd look a lot better than the boats the kit has now.

So my question-- where do I find a couple of boats?  Anyone have any ideas/leads?  (I don't really want to a buy a Tamiya Fletcher to just to get the boats!)

L'Arsenal makes a 1/350 USN whaleboat (item AC 350-18) which we stock. If you can wait, we're working on a 1/350 Lake-class cutter, which will require a 26' MSB--though this won't be available until some time next year.
