HMS Hood - 2 or 3 Anchors?

Weight saving and the fact of trying to get her bows up a little.

For all the Hood's beauty and nice lines she did not ship  high seas well at all..

Appreciate the research and input. I've cut out the wildcats on the foredeck for all three anchors and plan on doing the same on the hull. Found a good photo on the Hood official web site showing the foredeck and covers for the wildcats which I will scratchbuild. Cutting out the wildcats was a bit of a struggle, went through a few #11 blades, but the end result will support the effort. Yesterday I also cut out the stack tops. I've Tom's Modelworks photo etched set and will use the stack inserts. Cutting those was more than a bit of a chore; 4-5 #11 blades and broke a micro drill bit. This morning I planned on working on the stacks, but the bulb in my magnifing lens lamp has gone south! Everything is on hold until I get out to the store and get a new one....

I just checked the revised edition of the "Anatomy of the Ship" profile on the HMS Hood by John Roberts and the external profile and plan (as in May, 1941) shows that the rear anchor on the starboard bow is not there - so it must have been landed at some point prior to then. The anchor is there in a photo of the Hood in May, 1934, so it must have been removed sometime between then and 1941.  See if you can find a copy of Robert's book (used copies turn up periodically) - it's a great reference source for a modeler.
