                        It might be difficult finding names for the majority of Soviet/Russian submarines, as most subs only had a letter/number designation. Although this has changed in the past few years with Typhoon and Oscar class subs given names.

                        Go to www.fas.org
                        Search "russian navy"
                        Search through results and click on "KILO Class--Project 636"

                        At the bottom of the page it will list the known KILO hull numbers for all the KILO projects and it will provide names for some of the Russian ones.

                        Anyone know a good source for Kilo Class Subs? Will more than likely finish mine today and I'm looking for some photos showing markings that may be unique to certain ships. I want to have the brass nameplate engraved in Russian with ships name and hull number but I can't seem to find any of the individual ships names, just the numbers. Want to finish it as a operated by the Russian Navy, not an export. Any help would be nice.Question [?]
