HMS HOWE Colour?
Posted by ephriam01 on Friday, November 10, 2006 12:02 AM

Can anyone give help on the colours used on this ship ? I have tried guesswork but it isn't doing justice to this model (1:350 Tamiya ) There seems to be 4 colours for the camo scheme but all my reference is in black & white!

1943 would be the year in the Suez canal area.

You might want to direct this inquiry to White Ensign Models in England as they will have the correct paints in stock to do this from their own line of enamels. www.whiteensignmodels.com

I agree with asking White Ensign for painting information on the Howe.   Ask for John Snyder, he is their resident paint & camouflage expert.

But, if you write or call them right now they may be slow in getting back to you - they are getting ready for Scalemodelword at Telford.     They will get back as soon as they can, however.

By your signature block I see you are in Scotland.   If you are going to Telford yourself, go to the White Ensign stand and ask them directly.   I think John Snyder is going to be dressed as George Patton.   He usually goes dressed in his US Navy sailors suit, but I think he got a promotion.  ;->
