Very nice. That's cool that you have a piece of the deck. I especially like the water.

Hi all,

I just thought I would share my latest project with you.  It is the 1/350 scale USS Massachusetts resin kit from Yankee Modelworks.  This kit builds into a great replica and in addition to the hundreds of white metal, photoetched, and resin parts I added a number of scratchbuilt items including masts, supports, yardarms, 20mm ammo boxes, Kingfisher masts and aerials, spotlight platform, stairwell landings, and many more.  The model was finished in pollyscale paints, and weathering was done with a wash, drybrushing, and pastel chalk.  The water was a combination of self hardening clay (wakes) and acrylic gel medium which was later painted and then coated with future floor polish.

Also, the base the ship is mounted to is an actual piece of teak decking from the real USS Massachusetts.  I live in the city where she is berthed as a memorial and was able to aquire a piece that was discarded when replaced.

Go to my web page below to better view the pics.

 Thanks, Enjoy,
