AMATI,americas cup,1:35 Endeavour (SO BIG)
Posted by lolok on Friday, September 5, 2003 10:10 AM
Hello everyone,
I treated myself to the Amati kit of the Endeavour and it is huge.Stands nearly 6ft high!!!! I have built plank on frame before but this looks so daunting.Any little mistake will be glaring in this size. I just wondered if any one has taken a break from plastic and had a bash at this model. Any tips or things to watch out for would be appreciated.

I am not familiar with this particular model but I do scratch build in wood or plastic so if you have any questions please feel free to ask. If I can't help I know there are many others here who can.
Good luck!

Well B le Cren,I could do with a few hints as to how I can taper down a nearly 5 foot long piece of dowel which comprises the mast. Big Jake, the model is just under 3ft 10" long.It is a J.Class Yacht so they had enormous masts to carry all that sail. It is a beautiful kit with lots of turned brass and some beautiful woods.
