Woot ! Revell Spanish Galleon and Heller La Reale de France....
Posted by Grem56 on Friday, December 1, 2006 12:34 PM

Managed to get my grubby little hands on these two models on the Dutch Marktplaats online auction.

Reasonable prices and both brand new. The Spanish Galleon is so painfully kitschy that I have fallen in love with it already. Not really world shocking news but I was so chuffed getting hold of them I just had to share.

"Woot!"  What a wonderful word!

Youth, talent, hard work, and enthusiasm are no match for old age and treachery.

Still working on my Kearsarge at this moment:

Photo quality is not to good (colours are very stark here, real model is more muted). I had to intercept the Galleon and Reale when the mail was delivered and smuggle them past my better half for storage in my stash (saves a lot of explaining Big Smile [:D] ). As I mentioned the Spanish galleon is far removed from a model of a real ship but the Reale is really beautiful and I can hardly wait to start on it.

Ahhh so...you're good at heading the mailman off at the pass as well huh ? that's an art  to aquire, heh, heh,

You're modeling work is great, I have recently acquired the Reale De France and the 1:96 Revell Gallion and the 1:96 Revell English Man O War, both hulls are identical only the Gallion has two masts and the Man O War has three, right now I'm trying to figure out where I'll put those models when I get them finished, along with the CSS Alabama they're a lot of plastic, will you make  display cases  for yours ? I'd like to for mine.   Karl

photograph what intrests you today.....because tomorrow it may not exist.

Thank you very much for the positive remarks on the Kearsarge Hippy-Ed and Starduster Smile [:)]. I started work on the Kearsarge in September. The fun part (rigging) has just started now. I will go for a display case when the ship is finished, there is just too much chance of damage to the model if its left "au naturel " Wink [;)]

I am working on the Revell 1/96 English Man O'War as well, and I think I've figured out why revel added that second balcony.  Thay have the: fore-main&first mizzen-masts too far aft,and had to add that second balcony to make room for the second mizzen mast.  On my build I have cut open the lower gun deck ports, lowered the stern, and will be moveing the masts forward.
