In remberance of an old friend
Posted by sumpter250 on Monday, December 11, 2006 10:05 AM
I recieved a Christmas card from Maine, along with the "what's been going on" letter, which notified me that my old friend Ed Ruszczyc had passed away. Ed was a model railroader, and model ship builder. I met him while stationed at NAS Brunswick, Me., he rekindled my enthusiasm for model building. The first seven years of my naval career saw little time, and space for models. Through Ed, I also met Roger Bellanger, another model ship builder who had done some work for the Bath Marine Museum, in Bath Me. With these two as mentors, I learned a considerable amount about modelbuilding, in general, and model shipbuilding, in particular. A large part of my reference library, grew out of their recommendations. Ed helped me build the display case, and the "America" model in my avatar. You'll not soon be forgotten Ed, Fair winds and following seas.........Pete
