Well, I had a look at the Campbell plans and the 24 pounders he drew come out to 10 ft overall. That's the entire barrel length. At 1/159 scale, that's a shade over 3/4" long or about .754". The carronades are 5' 6" total barrel length. At 1/159 scale, that's .415".

Those pics show pretty much what I recall from that kit when I was a kid. That really takes me back.  :)

The 24 pounder long guns on the gundeck should be about 9 ft or so long. That's the barrel length. The barrels should be just shy of 11/16" long at 1/159 scale. I do not have the carronade barrel lengths handy, but I'll have a look see later today.

Revell 1/159 "Quick Build" USS Constitution - Photos of kit parts

Here are some photos of the Revell "Quick Build" USS Constitution kit, re-released this year.
I was originally going to post a more detailed "writeup" of the kit, including comparisons with the older 1/196 Revell kit, but don't have time to do this at the minute - hope these photos are of use to anyone interested in this kit.

Sprue 1:

Sprue 2:

Closeup of the mast tops and part of the spar deck.

Miscellaneous fittings - fife rails, pin rails, boats, wheel, etc.

Gun barrels and yards.

Closeups of the transom and hull.

Overall the kit seems fairly good, though it could certainly do with improvement in some areas. The gun carriages moulded into the decks don't actually look too bad - they are sharply moulded and have quoins (the wedges under the guns used to adjust their angle) and chocks moulded onto them. However I don't know how accurate they are to the actual gun carriages on the Constitution - I'll have to check some references first.
I'm still trying to figure out the scale - the hull dimensions are about 1/159 as other posters have mentioned but the guns and some other fittings look too big for this scale to my eyes (though I could well be wrong!). I'm wondering whether the designers got confused as to the kit's scale (as some sources describe the kit's scale as "1/111", probably by getting the hull length and overall length mixed up) What are the dimensions of the real Constitution's guns?
