I never thought of it, but a complement of marines would look good lining the deck.  Thanks for the wargame figure idea.  Of ocarse, I'm at present clueless as to what degree of detail the field dress would be.

I almost want to say blue with red sash and accouterments, but I don't want to steer you wrong. I am thinking white pants as well, but please don't take this as fact. Wish I could help...

Little Help w/ Marine Corps Uniforms circa 1800-1808?

This goes with building my USS Constitution in 1/96. I am building it for the period at the end of the Barbary Pirates war. The biggest problem I am running into now is the color of the Marine's uniforms. Prior to 1800 they have been shown as green. And then in 1820 they are a deep blue. I inquired as to if there was an Osprey book covering this period and it showed up as not having been published yet. Anyone got any resources on this one? I have purchased some 15mm wargame figures that are in perfect scale and are wearing the correct uniforms. But alas....

Thanks in advance.

Todd
