I want to paint my 1/720 Arizona with this color, but as it is my second ship model, and my first American warship, I don't know too much about the Navy colors, I only know this color as I've read somewhere that the December 7th USS Arizona was painted with this color... So I want to know if there are references of this color, I use only Model Master and Humbrol paints, so I want to have a close match or a color mix... Thanks in advance. Regards.

You can obtain EXACT color matches in enamels similar to Humbrol, if that is what you are used to using, from White Ensign Models or their dealers in the USA. You will need in addition to the 5S, 5L for the superstructure above the top of the funnel and teak for the deck, many modelers use radome tan (found in both Model Master and Humbrol) to simulate the unstained or unpainted wood decks of USN battleships. Close colors can be found in the Testors line of water based paints and the PolyS acrylics right off the shelf without having to mix. However, the closest matches to the paints used by the navies of the USA, UK, Japan, Italy and Germany will be found in the paints by White Ensign Models.
