Thanks, Chris - I was hoping you'd "weigh" in (sorry, couldn't resist). I had seen nothing to indicate that in any of the photos I've culled for research into my current build, but will go ahead and add it now.

Liberty ships were fitted with three anchors, the two 8,400 pounders forward and a 4,630 pound streaming anchor stowed just aft of No. 5 hatch.

I know it was common for most Victory ships, at least the late war ones, to carry an extra anchor, secured on the deck port side at the forward gun platform. But what about Liberty ships? I know they were regarded as "expendable" and the government certainly didn't lavish any extras on them, but does anyone know for sure if Liberty ships had more than the two anchors at the bows?
