More USS Arizona BB-39 info needed...
Posted by Zero Enna on Friday, January 12, 2007 10:35 AM

I'm detailing the Revell 1/720 kit, but I think that the kit has a wrong lower hull shape, with no detail, so I need some plans, or drawing, so I can detail it with plasticard or whatever needed. I think that some parts of the superstructure must be scratchbuild. My e-mail is jls_089@hotmail.com Thanks in advance. Most regards.

Thanks, but I already knew that page, and it didn't help too much, the hull shape in the Revell kit really needs to be corrected, and the page doesn't help about that... Well, thanks again.

plans can be purchased from Floating drydock; otherwise scanning plans in to e-mail to you would be a form of US copyright law infringement that FSM would probably frown upon.

Sorry... I didn't knew that scanning ship plans was a US copywright law infringement... I thought that it was easy like with aircraft plans... Well... I'll see what to do with my kit... I think I've seen a finished Mini Hobby USS Arizona in my LHS... maybe I'll use it for reference... If I'd only knew if it shape is the correct...

I have no idea what the kit distribution system in Peru is like, but if it's at all practical you owe it to yourself to take a look at the Dragon (DML) 1/700 Arizona kit. In either its original or new "Premium Edition" form, it's a superb product - superior in just about every way to the old Revell version. I know individual circumstances (availability, price, etc.) have to play a role for all of us in selecting what kits we buy; maybe buying the Dragon kit just isn't practical from your standpoint. If you can improve the old Revell kit to approach that standard, you'll have excellent reason to be proud of it.

Youth, talent, hard work, and enthusiasm are no match for old age and treachery.
