Yes folks you to can be a modeler with actually having to build one.

There's no fun in that!

Sure going to make it difficult for judges at contests though. I guess the winner would be the person who broke off the least amount of pieces getting the model to the contest site.

There goes my entry at the next IPMS. Guess I'll actually have to build one, now.

I've actually seen one of these up close...there's not much chance they would win anything under IPMS rules. The easy way to determine if the model is pre-built are many of the fittings are one piece injection instead of the multiple parts usually needed to build the piece. I also think the price will be prohibitive, then there's the morality factor. Any modeler with a shred of integrity won't try to sneak this one past.

Yup, we've had the same discussion over at the armor forum about the Tamiya Tiger I and Stg. III built-ups.
I don't think it'll be much of an issue, either.
Really, it would be no different than somebody entering any work that they didn't do themselves, which could happen anytime, anywhere. Thus, I don't see Tamiya's Masterwork Collection as any particularly new threat (or threat at all, actually).

It seems like Tamiya is pretty quick with the English pages these days!
But if ya can't find one, give me a holler, and I'll come a-translating!

That's definitely the Bismarck. Painted as she appeared between her sortie on her first mission and her arrival in the Norwegian fjord where the camouflage was painted over with overall gray.

That particular kit is 1:350 scale. A beautiful kit that builsa easily and lends itself to the Gold Medal Models PE kit very nicely. I'm currently doing a diorama of her as she appears today.
