Help with my 1:700 problem
Posted by BIGKAHUNAMENOR on Friday, January 19, 2007 1:37 PM
This might sound like a stupid question regarding 1:700 scale ships. I am building a scale representation of my buddies ship (ddg-7) and I was wondering if anyone knows of any aftermarket crew member figures in this scale. I know this sounds like an immpossible task because the ship is already so small but I figured it wouldn't hurt to ask the experts, Mahalo

Yes,  Toms Modelworks, White Ensign Models, Gold Medal Models, and I believe Eduard all make photoethed crew figures in 1:700 scale

I didn't originally think it was possible myself - or even worth the trouble, since much detail would be basically impossible - but here you go.

Scroll about halfway down the page and you will see a set of naval figures.  I don't know about the prices at this webpage since I've never shopped there or anywhere else recently, but I'd guess these figures are available elsewhere from most large distributors.

And welcome to the forums!

you can get them through Gold Medal Models [ my preference ] or Toms Modelworks.  I like the GMM sets because they have a better 3D appearance .You can order either set online.

Go with the Gold Medal Models set if you want a little better 3-D look (although glomming on some white glue or thick paint helps build them up too). If you're really feeling lazy, go to www.squadron.com and check out the prepainted Eduard figures in that scale.
