  hello Brian,

As you are our resident expert on all things Japanese and afloat I was wondering if you had come across this kit before??

Seems to be from the mid 70's and i succumbed after seeing it on E.bay.Nice model and BIG.

the instructions all in Japanese of course and though diagrams and photo's are fairly clear one area is a problem.

It seems you can rig the mast before joining the halfs with the supplied silk thread so as to be able to raise and lower the sails??

I don't suppose you know of a good translator site/programme do you, if you have no knowledge of the kit??

Cost me nearly $90 but yacht kits are few and far between and this one is impressive with its size and detail(Full interior)

I managed to find the old Tamiya pit crew set,the ones with the crew in shorts and short sleeve shirts.they will be perfect as crew when adapted a little.

I/20th scale really calls out for some figures to bring a little life to it.
