The Italeri 80' Elco that is. Picked it up this morning and am still rather stunned at the amount of real estate that will be needed to park this model when it's finished (methinks  my wife will not be amused SoapBox [soapbox]). Opinions online have been rather mixed over this model but I am very impressed by the package as presented by Italeri. Instructions and reference book are also well done. The thing just begs for further super detailing. Only one problem: When am I going to find the time to build all these models and where will I keep them when I have finished them ?

It's such a great problem to have though, isn't it?

Good luck on the build.

Some are never satisfied.  The way I see it almost all kits are the foundation for super detailing.  I can see a few things I would change and I'm sure there will be a lot of that going on as we see everyone posting their efforts.  I would expect to see some aftermarket kits coming out for improvements or perhaps other boats.  It's an awesome kit and it will be fun to build.  Start with Al Ross' drawings and go from there.

Enjoy.  We'll look forward to seeing your progress in the months/years to come.
