mfsob. Thanks for the reply. My aim is to try to raise the winches out of the deck so they could stand out more realistically. Tough luck on not being able to moor your wench. By the way, the scale I am talking about is !/350. Thanks again. Hank Support The Troops GARRY OWEN

If only I could have moored my wench, what a better place the world would be ... but I digress.

Depending on the scale you're talking about, these things aren't going to be but 1/8-inch in diameter or so at 1/350. Do you need to be that exact?

EdGrune, Thank you for replying to my message. I realized that I misspelled the word winches, but you caught the mistake before I changed it. I hope you got a chuckle with your morning coffee.  The winches I am asking about are on the forward deck of the Arizona behind the capstains. I had assumed they were for the mooring lines. Also where can I fine the class drawings that you mentioned that would show me the size of these winches?

Wench?  A lewd woman?  A female servant?  A pro?

Do you mean winch or capstan?   They would vary class to class - your best reference would be per the class drawings.

Do you mean bollards and cleats?  These are the deck fittings to which the mooring lines were passed through or attached.  Again check your reference drawings.

I have absolutely no idea of the size of a mooring wrench, or if there is such a thing
