Ahhhhhh, why not add to the pain and give photoetch a try? All kidding aside, since you're learning anyway, photoetch can make the difference between a model and something that ends up looking like a pool toy - as I discovered when I dove back in after a 30+ year absence.
Your build is looking nice and clean so far (must be nice to have an airbrush?) and if you do decide to try rigging, go with stretched sprue to start. It's cheap, you can make more when you screw up, and it is fairly durable. I color mine with a Magic or Sharpie marker - make sure you let that ink dry thoroughly before cutting the sprue to length.
