Yes, the portion of the rudder below the waterline also had copper plates.

Just a minor niggle here: On the Revell 1/96th Constitution the underwater hull is plated with "Copper" plates. The rudder itself would appear to be plain wood (no plates). Is this a blooper or is this accurate ? I would assume that the rudder would also be plated but................
