Corsair II Under Construction
Posted by Duke Maddog on Wednesday, March 28, 2007 1:35 AM
Ever since my birthday at the USS Midway in San Diego, I've been motivated to build a great looking kit that I got from the Distressed Kit Auction in December.

Once I saw this:

I just had to start my Glencoe Models Corsair II.

Now it is started. Here it is with the Hull and deck built, and the cabins completed and sitting loosely on the deck for now:

Man this one is exciting! I had to add 'glass' to the windows using the clear poly that is used in 'bubble' packaging, but it's looking better with the glass in the windows.

Thanks for looking in, comments are welcome. I'll post more pics as progress continues....

It is great to see your photos. I have built this kit once, from a very old ITC kit and it came together very nicely but I suspect rigging it would be almost impossible. I have a Glencoe version which will be built someday... It makes a very good looking little ship. Please post more photos for us.

Thanks Robert! I'm enjoying this one. I agree rigging will be a bear. I'd love to get a different rigging diagram since the Glencoe one here isn't all that clear. After all this time, this one is still going together well. I'll post more pics when I get more progress done.
