Go hang out in the model railroad side of the hobby shop.  There are all sorts of control wheels, levers, guages, and assorted busy-looking things which are available and could be useable.   HO Gauge is 1:87 and is close enough to work for 1:72 scale.

Don't give compliments to Revell on the molding of the Snowberry.   All those compliments go to Matchbox.

Question for Submarine modelers
Posted by Wilbur Wright on Thursday, April 12, 2007 6:51 PM

I'm building the Revell HMCS Snowberry and as a side project I may attempt to build the boiler/engine rooms of this ship (not actually installed in the model).

I have assembled many materials I would need. My question to submarine modelers is what do you use for interior things like gauges and wheel controls on the interior of sub models, that may also be used for a ships boiler room????  The scale is 1/72.

<> Thanks for any insight or ideas.

I also would like to say that the Revell Germany molding of the Snowberry is quite clean.  I'm very impressed with the quality of the molding and parts.
