I don't have it in front of me but Fine Scale carried an article on an Oregon build by Bob Santos some years ago.  I recall that the photos were well done so you might get some direction from that source.

I'm finishing up Glencoe's USS Oregon and was wondering how the bow anchors were secured while the ship was underway....some pics show something resembling a rope hawser attached to a fluke and secured to a bitt. Anybody got any suggestions?
