Thanks lenny. I did the old Hasegawa 1/700 Essex and put it all together before I tried to paint things, and that is going to be a nightmare. Your suggestions will help me get things done without having to redo a lot of painting.

Hi:  I think the best next step is to paint the parts on the sprues.  Spray paint works there.  Then, work on the  parts that go on the hull below the deck, like elevators and gun mounts.  Usually, the sub assemblies for the super structer go next.  At least thats the way I tried it.  Have lots of space and a mehtod for recovering the tiny pieces you drop.  Good luck.  Lenny

I started working on this kit a while back, and I have finished the hull assembly and I am going to begin working on the flight deck. Does anyone have any suggestions as to how to proceed? Do I just follow the instructions or should I do something in subassemblies? I am realtively new to ship building. Any hints or tips would be greatly appreciated.
