I don't have the Hasagaw version, but photos of the model looks to be much inferior to Tamiya's 1/350 scale.   Even Tamiya's version has a lot of accuracy problems.

Thanks, I saw that in another post. I agree that a large scale model, if properly researched can be a big help. I have quite a few pictures of the 10 foot model of the USS Missouri that is displayed on the Missouri itself.   Greg.

Photos of the real Yamato is scarce because the IJN choose to burn its photo archives at the end of WWII.  (What are they trying to hide, I wonder.)   The latest and most difinitive view of the appearance of Yamato during her last sortie is probably embodied in the 1/10 scale model of the Yamato in Kure Naval Museum in Japan:

This model show a number of differences from the references popular in the west, such as Skulski's Anatomy of the Ship: Yamato.   Some of these differences includes:

1. square AA gun tubs on the fantail

2. extensions to the back of the signal platform

3. chain ramp on the upper end of the hawse pipe on the bow

4. detailed deck fittings behind the breakwater

Musashi/ Yamoto resources?

I am building the 1/350 Musashi and seriously lack good photographic resources. I want to build her as she was on her last voyage. Can anyone direct me to some good sources? I have the book that covers her building and few sorties but it lacks any detail that would be useful. Thanks ahead of time!!!  Greg. Bow [bow]
