I don't have a clue about when the "new" Lindberg kits may be coming back. As I understand it, a new firm has taken ownership of the molds and has some ambitious plans. I welcome that development; there were some grand old kits under that label. If I had to pick one, I think it would be Fulton's Clermont - complete with motor that made the paddlewheels, scale (well, more or less), gears, and piston move.
For what it's worth, Squadron Mail Order is advertising the DML Bonhomme Richard. It's an Essex-class ship in Korean War configuration - no angled deck, and no ultra-modernized island, but with updated anti-aircraft armament and a complement of Panthers, Skyraiders, Corsairs, Cougars (oops, not right for Korea), and Dragonfly helicopters. Steel Navy has posted a review of it. Looks like a beautiful kit.
Youth, talent, hard work, and enthusiasm are no match for old age and treachery.
