That's a toughie, because what looks "right" to one person may not look OK to someone else.
Based on my limited experience, I would have to say that both Gold Medal Models and White Ensign Models offer top notch products. I have never had an issue with either one and, to my aging eyes, both look "correct" when you are comparing the same item, i.e., radars, railings, etc. Both have been leaders in adding raised details and more etching to make flat pieces look more three dimensional. Likewise with Toms Model Works, although my experience with him is limited to one specific set.
My only complaint about the Loose Cannon Productions PE that comes with their ships is that the railings are a little thick, but everything else is good. Those are the only companies I have experience with.
