Painting Tip
Posted by Big Jake on Wednesday, July 4, 2007 7:19 PM

This may be old news to some of you, but I fould it VERY useful on the Big Chebec I'm building. I'm sure it will be useful on other models as well.  My wife uses a brand of paint pen called "Decocolor" when painting the names of her school team on their hair ribbons for school funtions.  With all the scroll work on the 1/50th. scale Chebec I gave it a try and I would not believe the results. I painted an entire side of the upper aft section in just 5 minutes or less.  If I would have used a brush, it would have taken me probally an hour or more with rest and brush cleaning periods, plus shaking up the base paint also.  If you have not tried this, you really need to.  They make fine, meduim and broad tipped pens I used the fine tip.

You can control the action, the paint does not run and if you think you need another coat just make another pass over the first.  Paint dries FAST, really FAST.  I will take an post pictures on the web shots ablum by Friday afternoon.

I LOVE THIS THING!
