A.J. Fisher yacht
Posted by ted jayson on Thursday, July 12, 2007 8:03 PM

While working today a customer told me he was moving to a condo and had no room for a ship his dad built in the early '30's and would I be interested in it,FREE. I'm an aircraft modeler converted from full rigged sailing ships, so I said yeah. It turns out that it's the prototype for the sailing yachts A.J. fisher was famous for. I'm familiar with Fisher from my static ships, they were only a few miles from where I live so I visited often to buy fittings and plans.

The yacht is 4'3" long and 6'3" tall, black hull with the first self tacking set-up and it's in perfect condition, even the sails! To say the least I'm thrilled with this find. It'll never see water[exept through the window] and will be proudly displayed in my home. Sometimes it's good to be ME!
