That was quite an incredible article last year i believe.  I think id go a little crazy building the hundreds of brackets and those two paddle wheels though.  Then once you finish the ship you have to build a load of planes!

Bill Waldorf of http://www.modelwarships.com/index1.html built the uss wolverine in 1/72 scale.

A close friend sent me the link to these pictures of one of the aircraft carriers of the "Great Lakes Navy".  Thought someone would like to pursue this as a unique project or just enjoy the history, especially since George Herbert Walker Bush got much of his flight training on the USS Wolverine.
