Maybe a jewelers dapping block?

I have a cheap set from India that I use all the time for forming curved to hemispherical shapes.

I don't know about 1/700th, but if you are referring to photo-etched convex funnel screens I had success with my recently built 1/350th HMS Hood by using a piece of fairly stiff foam rubber. I cut the screens from the photo-etched sheet, placed them on the foam rubber and then using a dental tool with a curved end, gently pressed the ribs of the screen, beginning from the center to the edge. Care must be taken not to break the delicate ribs or distort the overall shape of the screen. However, after three or four pressings, the screens came out the way I wanted.

Hope this helps.

Greetings all

Just wondering if anyone has a sure fire method of getting the curve in the etched funnel grills on 1/700 ships? I have tried two different ways without success.

Cheers
