1/350 Japanese heavy cruiser?
Posted by Gordon234 on Tuesday, August 14, 2007 12:48 PM
Hello! I am looking for information on any 1/350 kits of Japanese heavy cruisers (Chokai, Atago, etc...) that might be presently on the market or new kits to come out. Does anyone have info on models like this, and if so, recommendations, criticisms, ...? Thanks in advance for for assistance you can give me!

Aoshima shows a 1/350 Takao to be released shortly in plastic. Yankee Modelworks makes several different resin 350 scale Japanese cruisers. I have not built or bought any of those, but I have seen several of the Yankee Modelworks built up and displayed at a LHS. They look REAL NICE! Check your favorite sites for listings, price, and availability.

As stated above Aoshima is to release(later this month) the  heavy cruiser in 1/350 takao(1942 version) later adding the  IJN Chokai( perhaps later version)  Both of these kits look excellent although a bit pricey $110 +USD.

Hasegawa will release the 1/350 IJN Nagato  sometime in November or December. which looks really nice if you are into IJN battleships.
