First build in over 27 years!
Posted by geauxcajuns on Sunday, August 19, 2007 12:19 PM

Greetings,

I have just completed my post in the Introduce Yourself section of the forum, and now I guess I'm ready to roll.

I am currently working on Lindberg's Captain Kidd.  My 9-year-old son got all caught up in the POTC series, and he kept asking all sorts of questions about the ship.  So, I decided to build one for him.  I have started an album on Webshots for all to see.  Again, please keep in mind that I have not built a single model kit since 1979!  The web address for the album is:

All suggestions and comments are welcome.

And finally, I do have to give credit where credit is due - A Very Big Thanks To Big Jake!  Sir, thank you for your encouragement, advice, and your friendship.  Without it, I probably would still be sitting on the sidelines wondering what it would be like to build kits again.  So much so that here's what's waiting on the shelf:

    1. Lindberg's Jolly Roger
    2. Heller's Le Glorieux
    3. Heller's La Sirene
    4. Revell's Spanish Galleon (which I built in 1978!)
    5. Revell's Thermopylae (which I started for my cousin in 1975!)
    6. Revell's USS Constitution (which I completed in 1977)
    7. Revell's Cutty Sark (which I completed in 1979!)
    8. Heller's HMS Victory

Laisez les bon temps roulez!

It's like riding a bike, you never forget how to build.

Welcome to our fourm, and we hope to hear a lot from you.  Great job on your build.

I have uploaded a new set of images to my Webshots album.  I've been extremely busy with my job, and have little to no time to work on this.  What's new is assembly of decks and hulls, rigging of cannon, and prep for shrouds.  Happy Thanksgiving!
