Trumpeter 1:350 Battleship kits: North Carolina vs Massachusetts
Posted by keilau on Tuesday, September 4, 2007 2:47 PM
The new BB-59 Massachusetts kit was just becoming available from hobby shops. From the trumpeter site, the part count is about half of the older North Carolina kit. 300+ vs 600+. Is this an improvement with better tooling technique? Or scaling back in accuracy and details?

I have not found a definitive source that compares the two but here are two reviews -one for the North Carolina in 2005 by Modeling Madness and one recently from Internet Modeler for the Massachusetts.

Thank you for the link to the Massachusetts kit review.

I found a few more reviews for the North Carolina.

Generally good impression, but no comment on the number of parts.
