Dragons MIssion Bay Ticonderoga Class...
Posted by Anonymous on Tuesday, October 14, 2003 6:38 PM
Has anyone built this model or any of the other Ticonderoga Class from Dragon ? Are they a good kit ?

I want to build a Ticonderoga Class 1/350 and the Mission Bay is the only one that is available here in Sydney locally at a pretty good price but I don't know whether to buy this one or wait for the Trumpeter Ticoneroga Class (when is this due out?), so I wanted to know if the Dragon Ticonderogas are any good.

Thanks

Basicly there probibly the same kit. I have the Dragon/DML 1/350 Spruance & Ingersoll. And the MiniHobby Models 1/350 Spruance (the hull says "trumpeter" on the inside). And they look like the same kit. And the Tico's were built on the same hull.

They are good kits (the Spruance's at least). Not Tamiya standards, but still good.

I built the DML USS BUNKER HILL (CG-52) because I served on her during DESERT STORM. Good detail and good fitting parts.

DML's Ticon is a great kit ootb but has the room for any level of super detailing you want to add. Have built that kit 4 times now and had fun with each one.
