1/700 IJN Kirishima Kit Question
Posted by John_in_Kzoo on Friday, November 30, 2007 6:35 AM

Hi,

I've seen both a Fujimi kit and a Hasegawa kit (which I believe is out of production now).  But I've only seen aftermarket parts for the Hasegawa kit, not the Fujimi.  Can someone tell me if perhaps the Fujimi kit is just a reboxed Hasegawa kit, or are they really different?

Thanks,

John

The Hasegawa Kirishima, kit no. 43112 (700 series 112) is a newer and better molding of the ship than the earlier Fujimi kit. You will be much happier with the Hasegawa kit than the old Fujimi. That being said, it still isn't as good as the Nagato or Fuso class ships from Aoshima. Having built those I was a little disappointed with the Hasegawa kits, but not that much as they are a VAST improvement over the Fujimis. Be careful when buying PE for these kits to be sure you get the PE for the Hasegawas and not the Fujimis as they are NOT interchangable. WS
