Italeri 1/35 SLC 200 Maiale
Posted by bablenw on Wednesday, December 5, 2007 11:27 AM

Good day ship modelers;

 I usually post to the aircraft forum but I've decided to take a break and work on a ships?Shock [:O]

 I'm currently working on the Italeri 1/35th scale Maiele SLC and was wondering about what color to paint it. The instructions suggest dark green, but the box top looks like it's colored black. So not sure. I'm thinking of using Testors MM British Dark green. There's a book that comes with the kit that shows black and white photos, but there are some color photos of one at a museum which looks like it's grey? Also not sure what color the included two figures' suits should.  So if anyone can help out that would be great.

Thank you Smile [:)]

The suits for the crew guys will probably be like old wetsuits, a black/dark gray natural rubber. For the green, if your using MM colors, they make some  Italian colors in the MM II line. Maybe the Italian Dark Green would be appropriate?

Thank you for the information. I'll check out those paints at my LHS.

I saw some pics of one from a museum but it was dark grey. One can never tell from that I suppose, I painted mine dark green and gave it a light misting of the same colour lightened down over the top.
