that looks about 12' if that is a 6' stepladder on the left side of the ship.

It's pretty wide - wider than most warships, even in proportional terms. Check out this picture of the USS George H.W, Bush under construction:

Cluster bombing from B-52s is very, very accurate. The bombs always hit the ground.

 Ok I know this has been asked before but I'm new to ships. How wide is the boot on the Nimitz? And where is it in relationship to the hull seem on the Trumpeter 1/350 kit?
