PE question - short railing fix?
Posted by peterj on Sunday, December 16, 2007 1:37 PM

I'm working on the aft gun mount of the Jeremiah O'Brien, using the GMM PE set.

The left end of the railing is tacked down, and it's apparent that the railing is too short to reach the opposite end.  The end of the railing reaches about to the end of the curved section, leaving the straight end empty.  So the question is... now what do I do?  There isn't any other similar railing in the set, so using two pieces isn't an option.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

Umph ... that's not like GMM at all! Is that the stern gun mount, with the two-bar railing?  One of two things, see if you can cut down another section of railing to that height, or e-mail Loren Perry and ask him what's up. He's usually quick to respond. I have not heard anyone else complain about that particular problem, and Loren's stuff usually fits like a dream.

I emailed Loren after I posted this, so hopefully I'll hear from him soon.  Thanks for the tip about cutting down a larger railing... never thought of that.
