The Maiale

Good evening;

I'm normally over in the aircraft forum posting but I diverted a bit to build this very interesting kit I saw in my LHS. It's the Italeri kit. I also was able to try my hand at figure painting. I've got some improvements to make in that area.  The torpedoe is finished in MM British Green, weathered with pastels and oils. The figures are oils and acrylic under coat. I liked this kit as it had lots of extras in it;  a book on its history and some decent photos. Also the PE stuff was a really nice touch. The rear rudder and propeller section was a bit confusing as the instructions don't mention wiring but the box photos did show the wiring in white so I used stretch spruce to simulate that effect. Not sure how acurate I made it but it is interesting and makes for a unique model in my collection.  I hope you like my little diversion.

I like the job you did on the figures, it really captures the look of a period frogman suit.

Thank you kindly. They were fairly easy to build and I used black with white and blue mix highlights. The skin and flesh needs some work but that will come with experience.

Thanks Beau. Great to see you out here on the forums. I'm fairly active over in the Airliner Group Build.
