the youtube site has 60 more vids using plastic , paper , r-c boats etc

That's one of the more amazing things I've ever seen.

Two questions.  One - just how big is it?  Two - did he/they glue the blocks together somehow, or will the vibration caused by a passing semi make the whole thing fall apart into its millions of components?

That's awesome!  and very funny for some reason.  He's probably part engineer.  Did you see that substructure for handing the weight.
